About me

Hello! My name is Case Grillot and I am from Northern Kentucky (I have lived in all three counties at one point in time). I am a freshman at University of Cincinnati in the College of Arts & Sciences where I am majoring in geography, with a focus on GIS & Remote Sensing. My pursuit of geography as a field of study is the result of a long relationship I have had with maps and atlases since I was a child, ultimately allowing me to go to the National Geographic Bee in Washington, DC, during eighth grade (My name is even on the Wikipedia page). My passion for geography did not however cease at that point as I have now learned how to use QGIS and R, which I got into via my contributions to OpenStreetMap. Currently I work at a tapas bar named “Mita’s” in downtown Cincinnati as a server’s assistant. Because I have commuted to work via bike over the past year, I have strong concerns and beliefs regarding urban design and the priority of automobiles over all other forms of traffic. Because of this I hope to be able to unite my love for geography, urban design, and the environment into a career pathway that takes all those factors into account.
